What time is worship on Sunday morning?  How long does it last?  Do I have to dress up?

Worship is at 10:00 am every Sunday and ends between 11:00 and 11:15 am. Sunday School for children in preschool through 5th grade takes place during worship, after Time with Young Disciples. Nursery Care for infants and toddlers is available during worship.

Folks come to worship wearing shorts, suits and everything in between.  You are welcome to worship with us no matter what you are wearing.  God does not care what you wear, and neither do we!

Is there Adult Sunday School?

Yes:

  • The Adult Discussion Forum - meets after worship. In the "Forum," participants discuss how our faith interesects with current events.  The Forum is led by Bill and Ruth Mandernach.  New participants are welcome at any time.

Additionally, there are other Adult Bible Studies throughout the month:

  • Presbyterian Women meet in Bible study Circles monthly
  • A small group of mostly folks in their 30's and 40's meets monthly
  • The Spirit of Star Trek, hosted by Pastor Curtis meets monthly
  • A men's Bible study meets monthly, led by Parish Associate Chuck Pickens
  • At various other times of the year, particularly Lent, Advent and over the Summer, a weekly Wednesday Night Class is offered. This summer we will be doing an intergenerational class on the "Parables of Dr. Seuss."

Who works in the nursery?  What are their qualifications?

Amanda and Cielle work in the nursery on Sunday mornings.  They are CPR and First Aid certified.  Both are teachers at our children's center, which means they also have completed units towards a degree in early child development.

Are children included in worship, if so, how?

Children over the age of three attend worship with their parents for the first 15 (or so) minutes until "Time with Young Disciples."  At this point, the children are invited forward for a message that is geared just towards them.  Following "Time with Young Disciples" the children are escorted by their Sunday School Teachers to their classrooms.  Children who are preschool and kindergarden aged go to the KidZone.  Children who are in first through fifth grade attend Sunday School in the upstairs Youth Apartment, above the kitchen.

Sunday School ends when worship is complete.
